Tesla Motors is opening its new car battery repair and parts store in Chicago, according to a listing on the website of a local company that’s already been selling parts to Tesla.
The Illinois Business and Industry Association, which represents the automotive parts industry, said the store will have a small- and medium-sized business center and will feature Tesla’s new Autopilot technology.
The Tesla store will be located at 1750 S. Belmont Ave.
in the West Town neighborhood, a few blocks from Tesla’s headquarters.
It’s a step up from Tesla Motors’ current car-parts store, located at the same location, which was closed this year because of construction.
The company said the new store will employ at least one full-time employee and will open by the end of the year.
The store will also be open seven days a week, with a full-day appointment, and a two-hour appointment for delivery and pick up.
The store will not be open for the Christmas holidays.
