Car parts retailer Car Parts Inc. is on a run from the feds, but the company’s CEO is a former Trump campaign official.
Car Parts Inc., which also sells cars for Trump campaign donors, has been under scrutiny since last month when the FBI arrested two former employees on fraud charges.
The FBI also obtained a warrant to search the company.
Federal authorities said that the company had violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) by using Trump campaign funds to pay former employees.
The indictment also accused the company of falsifying tax returns and other documents to conceal payments to the firm’s former executive director.
A former employee who was a paid employee of Car Parts has filed a lawsuit against the company in federal court in Anchorage, Alaska.
In the suit, the former employee claims Car Parts failed to pay him wages and benefits for at least three years, and that he was fired because of his union membership.
The company denies the allegations and said that it is cooperating with the government.
A spokesperson for the company said that Car Parts is currently cooperating with federal authorities.
