Parts of a crash have been found near a car part store in Melbourne’s east, with the owner claiming to have found some “horrible things”.
The man who owns the business told the ABC he had seen a car being towed from a car park and noticed it had “some kind of weird looking stuff on the side”.
The “horrific stuff” was “a big, black box”, the man said, adding that the car had been parked for several days.
“I just ran out and bought some things to put in the box and when I got home I started digging through the box,” he said.
The car had come with a car frame and a dashboard, and the driver and passenger had been sitting in the front passenger seat.
The man told the station he had contacted the owner and told him the parts were being sent to a friend in the US and had been sold in Australia.
“They’re in an interstate depot in the States.
They’re worth about $400 [AUD] but it’s in the country, it’s not in Australia, so we’re just going to keep it as a mystery,” he told the broadcaster.
“We’ve had a few people who have been able to pick up parts online, so I think it’s worth investigating.”
The ABC contacted the Melbourne Police Department for comment, but has yet to receive a response. ABC/wires
