Tesla is buying a robotics and manufacturing company called Zephyr, the company announced today.
Zephyrs founder and CEO Mike Kloepfler said he’s in talks with Tesla and that he’s looking to partner with the company on projects including autonomous driving.
Zephyrs CEO Mike Kloeppl said in a statement that he looks forward to working with Tesla as it develops autonomous driving technology.
Tesla will pay Zephy $300 million for the deal.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said in August that he expected to see autonomous vehicles on the road by 2020.
